Ninjas need to make smart decisions, work and learn effectively. Both alone, as well as coordinated with the rest of the team.
Ninjas act alone, but they carry the reputation of the team.
Every time you finish something, take a look at it and ask yourself – ‘Is This Awesome?’. If not, ‘What would make it awesome?’
Embrace them and share them. They are not something to hide from. They are something to learn from. Mistakes show that you are trying.
Simply ask: What happened? What should have happened? How can I make it right?
Don’t Assume Anything. Clarify anything that is not crystal clear. Ask lots of questions, All the time.
Questions don’t show that you are stupid or you don’t know what you are doing. Questions show that you are interested in finding out and making sure you are correct or doing it right. If you never ask questions you will seem arrogant and selfish.
Lower their expectations to meet reality as early as possible. Don’t have them thinking that something will happen when really it won’t. And try as much as possible to give them a pleasant surprise at the end when you meet or exceed their new expectations.
Life isn’t meant to be boring, even at work. Have a laugh, make other people laugh. Make your clients laugh.
